Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. Overview
Weekendly AI ("we", "us") collects limited information needed to generate personalized itineraries and operate the Service. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used (including AI processing and location data), and your choices.
2. Information we collect
Account data: your email address and name, collected when you register.
Plan inputs: the details you enter when creating a plan — location, date, time, group size, audience, budget, interests, vibe, indoor/outdoor preference, dietary restrictions, transportation, and any free-text preferences.
Plans and votes: the plans you create and votes cast by you and your group.
3. Location and GPS data
You may provide location in two ways:
"Use my location": with your permission, the app uses your device's GPS (via your browser's geolocation feature) to determine your current coordinates, then resolves them to a city and area using a reverse-geocoding service. Your precise GPS coordinates are used only for that lookup and are not stored on your account.
Manual address entry: you may type a city, region, or area directly. This is stored as part of the plan so the itinerary can be generated and re-opened later.
Location is used to generate relevant nearby itineraries and to fetch a weather forecast for the plan's date. It is not sold to third parties and is not used to track you across other services.
4. How your input is processed by AI
To build your itinerary, the plan inputs you provide (including location, group, budget, preferences, and dietary needs) are sent to an AI model that generates suggested activities, schedules, and cost estimates. The AI processes these inputs solely to produce your itinerary. We do not use your personal inputs to train third-party AI models.
AI-generated details (venue names, prices, hours, dietary/halal status) may be estimates and should be verified with the venue. See our Terms of Service for more on AI content.
5. Weather and maps
To provide accurate weather notes, the app sends your city and plan date to Open-Meteo, a third-party weather API, to fetch a forecast. The forecast is then included in the AI prompt. Activity locations may include links to Google Maps to help you navigate; clicking those links is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (such as theme and cookie-consent choice). We do not use pre-ticked non-essential cookies. See the cookie banner for your consent options.
7. Data retention
Your plans and account data are retained while your account is active. You can delete plans at any time. On account deletion, associated data is removed.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights (GDPR and similar)
If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with data-protection laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for processing based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us through the app's support channels.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
This is a template provided as a starting point and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being relied on legally.
